Case Scenario 3

This is 16 years old male patient who came from rural area. He sustains falling down injury from a tree to his right forearm. It was open initially. For this he has taken to tradition bone setters and traditional splint was applied there and stay for 2 weeks. The traditional bone setters also use mud as traditional medicine inside the splint. He came to our hospital with critical condition; then investigated and diagnosed with distal radioulnar fracture with wet gangrene of the hand and forearm. Finally, since the extremity was dead, in order to save his life, above elbow amputation was done and discharged with improvement.
