CASE SCENARIO 14
This is a fifteen years old male patient who came from rural part of the country. He sustained a fall from ground level 35 days ago. Initially, it was a closed injury and the injury affected his left forearm. His family took him to traditional bone setters, then the traditional bone setters massaged him and they applied leaf and plant ingredient to the injured site. they also applied tight bamboo splint which was removed before he came to our hospital. Up on presentation he was stable but had complications like degloved wound, skin maceration, infected skin, chronic osteomyelitis, delayed union, joint stiffness, deformity, Volkmann’s ischemic contracture and missed compartment syndrome. X-ray was performed and diagnosed with distal radioulnar fracture. he was managed accordingly and finally discharged with improvement.
