CASE SCENARIO 13
A nine years old male patient came from rural area of Oromia region. The patient sustained a falling down accident from ground level approximately one month ago. He sustains injury to his arm, elbow and forearm. It was closed injury initially. then the family sought help from traditional bone setters, where he was massaged with butter and tight bamboo splint was applied. They came to our hospital for the complaint of darkness of left upper extremity. He was x-rayed and diagnosed with left upper extremity wet gangrene secondary to missed compartment syndrome, then the patient underwent a major amputation above elbow. Finally, the patient was discharged with improvement.
